The toolkit Git Extensions is created with an object of making work with Git on Windows more spontaneous. It is made available on Linux and Mac OS X via Mono. The shell extension will integrate in Widows Explorer presenting a context menu on files and directories. You have a Visual Studio plugin to customise Git from the Visual Studio IDE.
Video tutorials with some basic functions are also available on YouTube; links for the Git Extensions download page, source code and documentation.
